West Indies make good start, but rain stops play

West Indies make good start, but rain stops play

West Indies openers Sunil Ambris and Shai Hope have both hit half centuries to give the team an ideal start in the Tri-Nation Series final against Bangladesh in Dublin on Friday (May 17).

Put into bat first, the duo have put 131 afer 20 overs, but rain has stopped their charge for the time being. In-form Hope is unbeaten on 65 while Ambris is not out on 59.

The Tigers are without key player Shakib Al Hasan, who is nursing a back injury.

The teams played twice in the group stages, Bangladesh winning both the games easily.

Cricket Ireland has confirmed that Bangladesh will lift the trophy in case of a no-result today. Better results in the group stage. If it happens, it will be Bangladesh's first win in a multi-team ODI tournament.

The rain has apparently stopped and the umpires will carry out an inspection at 3 p.m. Ireland time (8 p.m. BST).
