Rubana Huq, the panel leader of Sammilita Forum that swept the election of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office on Sunday (Apr 7).
Rubana Huq called on the prime minister in the afternoon and greeted her by presenting a bouquet on the occasion of the victory of Sammilita Forum in the BGMEA polls, local media reported citing PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
The PM congratulated Rubana Huq on her panel’s win in garment sector’s apex trade body biennial polls.
She also wished her success in running the BGMEA and further development of the country’s apparel industry, the press secretary said.
Rubana Huq, managing director of Mohammadi Group, is set to be the first female president of the BGMEA as her panel won all 35 posts for directors in the BGMEA polls held on Saturday (Apr 5).
She is scheduled to take helm of the BGMEA on Apr 20.
