With the slogan of Technology for Prosperity, BASIS SoftExpo 2019 will start at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Tuesday (Mar 19). The three-day long event is the congregation of ICT companies, personalities, key policy makers, industry leaders and other ICT stakeholders.

Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has organized 15th BASIS SoftExpo 2019. ICT Division is the partner of this event. Besides, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) are zone partners of Industry 4.0 Zone and Experience Zone.

In this regard a press conference was organized on Mobday (Mar 18) at BASIS. ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, ICT Secretary N M Zeaul Alam, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) Project Director Md. Rezaul Karim and LICT’s Component Team Leader Sami Ahmed were present at the conference.

BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, Senior Vice-President & Convener of BASIS SoftExpo 2019 Farhana A Rahman and Vice-President (Admin) Shoeb Ahmed Masud, Vice-President (Finance) Mushfiqur Rahman, Director Didarul Alam were present on behalf of BASIS.

ICT State Minister said, expansion and development of local ICT sector is the heart & soul of Digital Bangladesh. Local ICT sector has been contributing from the very beginning in the development of Digital Bangladesh. The motto of BASIS SoftExpo is to uphold the capability of local ICT sector.

Besides, stakeholders of ICT industry will take part in the SoftExpo. ICT Division and BASIS has been working closely for a long time. This year ICT Division and BASIS will organize BASIS SoftExpo in wide spectrum, one of the largest ICT expositions in this region.

ICT Secretary N M Zeaul Alam and Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) Project Director Md. Rezaul Karim have also expressed their delights. They said, Industry 4.0 zone and Experience zone will highlight latest technologies developed by local ICT industry. Together we will uphold our local industry in this year’s BASIS SoftExpo.

BASIS President has expressed his hopes regarding SoftExpo 2019. He said, SoftExpo will help the local IT companies to expand their business. 250 exhibitors will participate this year. SoftExpo is the platform to showcase the capability of local software companies in the international arena.

Farhana A Rahman said, "We are progressing towards the pathway of Digital Bangladesh and our local market has been expanding. That’s why we have included new zones. Women Zone has been added to inspire Women Entrepreneurs. For students there will be CV Box in every exhibiting stall. We have B-2-B Matchmaking, Japan Day, Corporate Hour, Business Leadership Meet - where 500 corporates will participate. This year we have received a tremendous response from all over Bangladesh. Together we will showcase the capability of Bangladesh’s ICT sector in BASIS SoftExpo 2019."

This year more than 250 national & international IT companies are showcasing their product & services in this mega exposition.

SoftExpo 2019 has been divided into 10 individual zones. There will be Corporate Hour, Japan Day, Business Leadership Meet - where more than 500 corporate high officials will participate. Largest ICT Career Camp for the Students will take place. The largest Gaming Fest will also take place. B-2-B matchmaking session would be a unique opportunity for software and ITES companies.
