Southeast University (SEU) organized the “Literature Award Giving Ceremony 2018” on Saturday (Mar 9) in the National Art Gallery Auditorium, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Segun Bagicha Road, Dhaka.
Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of SEU, chaired the ceremony while M. A. Manan, MP, hon’ble Minister, Ministery of Planning, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the occasion as the chief guest.
K M Khalid, MP, hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the special guest and Md. Rezaul Karim, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Southeast University Trust, was present as the guest of honor.
Eminent educationist National Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman, Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, former Director General of Bangla Academy, and Habibullah Shirajee, DG of Bangla Academy were also present.
Eminent novelist Selina Hossain and distinguished essayist Abul Momen received the Southest University Literature Award 2018.
Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, founder and chairman of Bishwa Sahitya Kendra and Emeritus Professor Dr. Serajul Islam Choudhury were awarded lifetime achievement gold medal at the event.
Later a cultural event was organized where artists of the SEU Cultural Club performed.
Ekushey Award Laureate Poet Mohammad Nurul Huda, nationally renowned literateurs, Members of BoT of SEU Trust, Registrar, Director IQAC, Department Chairs, Directors and faculty members of Southeast University attended the program.
