Gonoforum nominated veteran politician Sultan Muhammad Monsur Ahmed took oath as a member of the 11th Jatiyo Sangsad on Wednesday (Mar 7). He was sworn in as Member of Parliament at the JS Bhaban in the morning, local media reports said.
However, another MP-elect of the party Mokabbir Khan is yet to take oath, said a Gonoforum press release on Wednesday. According to the release, Khan will take oath later.
Sultan Monsur, former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), was elected MP from Moulvibazar-2 constituency and Mokabbir Khan was from Sylhet-2 seat.
Opposition alliance Jatiyo Oikyafront, led by BNP and Gonoforum, secured eight seats in the Dec 30 national polls.
