Bangladesh University (BU) debate team becomes the champion in the UCB Public Parliament National TV Debate competition held recently at ATN Bangla, BFDC, Dhaka. 32 teams from different universities across the country participated in the competition.
In the grand finale BU team defeated Bangladesh University of Business and Technology on the topic ‘Without Regional Consensus Rohingya Crisis will be Tough to Resolve’.
BU team participated as the opposition party in the shadow parliament.
BU team has also been awarded prize money of Tk. 200,000/- with the champion trophy. Eastern University secured the third position in the competition. Second and third Prize money was Tk. 100,000/- and Tk. 50,000/- respectively.
Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen was the chief guest in the program. Vice-Chancellor of BU Prof. Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif, Registrar of BU Brigadier General Md. Mahbubul Haque (Retd.) along with high officials, and faculty members of three universities were present in the program.
A large number of students were also enjoyed the grand finale.
