Passengers will have to carry photo IDs while travelling to local destinations by air. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) issued the instruction on Tuesday (Feb 26), two days after a reported attempt to hijack a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport, local media reported.
Valid passports, NID cards, driving licences, student IDs and office IDs will have to be shown while collecting boarding cards, Biman said in a statement.
Biman requested the passengers to keep photo IDs with them travelling to domestic destinations. “Otherwise, they’ll be restricted from travelling,” the statement added.
