Under the countrywide vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign, more than 5 lakh children in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to be fed vitamin ‘A’ capsules on Saturday (Jan 19). More than 2 crore children, aged between six months and 59 months, will be fed Vitamin A plus capsules under a national campaign on Jan 19.
The data was revealed at meeting held at DNCC conference room on Wednesday (Jan 16), local media reported.
DNCC will also administer vitamin ‘A’ Plus capsules to the children in 36 wards under its five zones. The campaign will begin at 8 a.m. and continue till 4 p.m. on that day across the country
Speakers at the meeting said vitamin ‘A’ plus capsule is crucial to prevent childhood blindness, it reduces child mortality and increases immunity of children.
