X-Men: Dark Phoenix is adapting the Dark Phoenix Saga for the big screen. The storyline has already been adapted in X-Men: The Last Stand but this new version of the story looks to aim a bit closer to the comic book source material. The X-Men may be back at Marvel Studios but Dark Phoenix is still on track for a June 2019 release date, remaining in its own universe.
Dark Phoenix is the directorial debut of Simon Kinberg. Kinberg has said that he sees the film as the beginning of a new chapter for the X-Men movies franchise. Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) unleashes her true power in the new trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Dark Phoenix opens Jun 7, 2019. Upcoming X-Men movies include Once Upon a Deadpool on Dec 12th, The New Mutants on Aug 2, 2019, and Gambit on Mar 13, 2020.
