Autumn celebration at DU

Artistes celebrated autumn at Bakultala of Dhaka University presenting songs, poems and dances on Saturday (Oct 13). The programme was organised by Satyen Sen Shilpigosthi.

People from all walks of life thronged the venue where artistes presented songs and poems, penned by leading poets like Rabinranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam and others, and dance recitals synchonised with songs glorifying the season.

DU Vice-Chancellor professor Md Aktaruzzaman was present as the chief guest and Sammilito Sangskritik Jote president Ghulam Quddus, Satyen Sen Shilpi Gosthi vice-president Dr Nigar Chowdury and its general secretary Manjar Chowdhury Sweet were present as the special guests at the programme.

Artiste Nurul Haq began the show presenting an instrumental recital on Santur.

Singer Mohadev Gosh rendered a Tagore song 'Amal Dhabal Paley' and Anima Roy sang Tagore songs 'Amar Raat Pohalo' and 'Dekho Dekho Shuktara.'

Sumon Mazumder rendered a Nazrul song 'Bhorer Jhiler Joley', and Sanjoy Kobiraj rendered 'Shiuli Phool Doley'.

Besides, artistes of Surbihar, Satyen Sen Shilpigosthi and Wrishij Shilpigosthi presented Tagore, Nazrul and traditional songs. 

Rafiqul Islam recited Nirmalendu Goon’s poem 'Kashfuler Kabbo' and Naila Tarannum Chowdhury recited Nazrul’s patriotic poem 'Nomo Nomo Nomo Bangladesh Momo'.

Artistes of Nritakkhyo, Spandan, Nrityajon and Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts respectively presented group dance recitals synchronised with the songs 'Megher Koley Rodh Heseche', 'Shisire Shisire Sharodo Akashe', 'Tumi Ki Keboli Chobi' and 'Shiuli Tolae Bhor Belae' at the programme.
