Tigresses lose second T20I against Pakistan

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team suffered a 58-run defeat to Pakistan women’s cricket team in the second T20I of the four-match series held on Wednesday (Oct 3) at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.

Put to bat first by Bangladesh, Pakistan were dismissed at a small total of 88 for 5 in 14 overs with skipper Javeria Khan top scoring 25 runs and Nahida Khan making 18.

Nahida Akter took two Pakistani wickets conceding 19 runs.

Bangladesh started the chase badly as neither any batsman of the host side able to reach the double figure in the face of tight bowling spells by the Pakistani bowlers and eventually dismissed at 30 in 12.5 overs.

Pakistani bowler Anam Amin produced the most economical figure with three for 0 in 3 overs including three maidens. She was later named the player of the match for his impressive bowling figure.

The remaining two T20Is will be played on Oct 4 and 6 while the solitary one-day game is scheduled for Oct 8. All the matches will be held at the same venue.

Earlier, the first T20I of the series was abandoned due to bad weather.
