Educational institutions closed on Thursday

All the educational institutions of the country will remain closed on Thursday (Aug 2) as per the order of the education ministry.

Amid the growing student protest over the killing of two college students in a road accident in the capital, the government on Wednesday announced to keep all the educational institutions across the country closed for Thursday.

Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Sohrab Hossain told journalists that the government has decided to keep the educational institutions closed on Thursday for the safety of the of students and others.

Students took to the streets for the 4th consecutive day on Wednesday demanding punishment of those responsible for Sunday's accident.

The students blocked roads in the capital and a number of districts to press home their demands, leaving commuters to suffer.
