Mayor-elect of Gazipur Md. Jahangir Alam and commissioners of the city corporation called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Gonobhaban residence in Dhaka today along with local Awami League leaders. Jahangir presented a bouquet to the PM , local media reports said.
Sheikh Hasina greeted the mayor and commissioners and congratulated the people of Gazipur for electing the Awami League candidates in the election.
Sheikh Hasina said the victory in Gazipur election would show the party the way of victory in future.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, president of Gazipur City Awami League Advocate Azmat Ullah Khan and mayor Jahangir Alam also spoke on the occasion.
