Tigresses beat Thailand by 9 wickets

Bangladesh national women’s cricket team continued their winning streak by beating Thailand by nine wickets on Thursday (Jun 7) in Women’s Asia Cup Twnety20 at Kuala Lumpur’s Kinrara Academy Oval.

Including this one, the Tigresses have won three matches in a row in four matches as the Bangladesh women defeated Pakistan and India back to back after being beaten by the Lankan women in their first match.

Winning the toss, Bangladesh elected to bowl first and restricted Thailand to 60-8 in stipulated overs. Salma Khatun and Nahida Akter claimed two wickets each while Jahanara Alam, Fahima Khatun, Khadija Tul Kubra each bagged a wicket.

In reply, Bangladesh lost the wicket of Shamima Sultana (8) early but Ayesha Khatun and Nigar Sultana shared an unbroken 54-run in ninth wicket to take them home in 11.1 overs.

Both Ayesha and Nigar were unbeaten with identical score of 25 off 28 balls.

The Tigresses will face hosts Malaysia on Saturday.
