Five meritorious students of Dhaka University’s Islamic History and Culture department have been awarded the “Prof Dr Habiba Khatun Scholarship” for their outstanding academic results in BA Honours examinations. The scholarship recipients are Md Azim Uddin, Md Redwanul Karim, Md Abdullah Al Matin, Tauhid-E-Jahan and Syed Md Muntasir Muhaymin.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarship among the students at a function held on Monday (May 21) at the VC’s lounge of the university, said a press release.
Acting Chairman of the Islamic History and Culture department Prof Dr Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairperson of the Geography and Environment department Prof Dr Hafiza Khatun, donor of the trust fund Prof Dr Habiba Khatun, Prof Md Mahfuzul Islam, Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani, Prof Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan and acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman were, among others, present on the occasion.
The VC urged the students to become worthy citizens. He said meritorious students have to play an effective role in making Bangladesh a prosperous country.
