Mim Mantasha has been crowned as the winner of Lux Super Star 2018. She was announced winner by the judges at the Grand Finale held at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre in Dhaka on Friday (May 11), local media reports said.
As the champion of the competition, Mim received Tk 5 lakh, a brand new car and the opportunity to become the brand ambassador of Lux Bangladesh. She will also get the opportunity to receive training at Bangladesh Film and Television Academy, and to work on television and feature film projects of Impress Telefilm.
Sarwat Ajad Brishti and Samia Athoi were also chosen as the first runner up and second runner up of this edition of Bangladesh’s biggest beauty pageant. Sarwat received Tk 4 lakh prize money and Samia received Tk 3 lakh.
This year’s judges panel of Channel i Presents Lux Super Star was comprised of film star Arifin Shuvoo, model and actor Mou, and singer Tahsan Khan.
At the grand finale, Cultural Affairs Minister and actor Asaduzzaman Noor, media personality and actor Aly Zaker, and actor Ishita were also present as guest judges.
Previous Lux Super Stars Bidya Sinha Mim, Zakia Bari Momo and Mehazabien Chowdhury had come together on the same stage with special performances. There were also performances from Lux Stars Nazifa, Supriya, Swarna, Heera and Samia, and popular singer and rock band Nemesis’ vocalist Zohad Reza Chowdhury.
Mim Mantasha, Samia Athoi, Sarwat Azad Bristi, Ishrat Zaheen, and Nabila Afrose were the top five finalists of this year’s edition of the beauty pageant.
The results were based on the judges’ points given during the finale, votes from the audience, and points from previous rounds.
For the very first time ever, three former Lux Super Stars -- Bidya Sinha Mim, Mehazabien and Momo, performed together on the same stage. Another attraction of the event was the performance by the three judges -- Mou, Tahsan and Arifin Shuvo.
