The AB Bank Bangladesh Golf Open 2018, an Asian Tour approved Professional Golf tournament of the country, inaugurated on Tuesday (May 8) at the Kurmitola Golf Club, one day before the formal start of the tournament, said an ISPR press release.
Mirpur cantonment defense services command and staff college commandant and Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) senior vice-president AKM Abdullahil Baquee inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
General Secretary of BGF Brigadier General Kazi Shamsul Islam, tournament director Brigadier (retd) Abidur Reza Khan, joint secretary Brigadier General (retd) M Ohahidul Haque, AB Bank Limited managing director Mosahiur Rahman Chowdhury and its deputy managing director Sazzad Hossain were present, among others, on the occasion.
Host Bangladesh is directly participating in the main round of the tournament with 35 rising golfers and six professional golfers being as a host country which is a big achievement for the country.
