Offices reopen after Eid vacation

After a nine-day Eid vacation, government and private offices in the country, along with banks, educational & financial institutions, and courts, resumed operations on Sunday (Apr 6).

Banking services resumed at 10:00 a.m. across the country, with transactions continuing till 4:00 p.m. while the stock market also opened doors at 10:00 a.m. which will continue until 2:30 p.m.

Officials and employees returning to work exchanged Eid greetings with colleagues. However, a festive mood still lingered as many holidaymakers have yet to return to the capital.

Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims, was celebrated in Bangladesh on Mar 31.

The Eid holidays began on Mar 28 and ended on Apr 5. The government had declared a five-day public holiday on the occasion. Besides, the regular weekly holidays of Friday and Saturday paved the way to enjoy a nine-day holiday.
