SUST observes 35th founding anniversary

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Friday (Feb 14) celebrated its 35th founding anniversary with colourful events. The university Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AM Sarwaruddin Chowdhury and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Md Sajedul Karim inaugurated the anniversary programmes at about 10:00 a.m. by hoisting national and SUST flags in front of the administrative building-1, said a press release.

Later, a colourful procession was brought out on the campus after releasing a bunch of balloons in the sky, marking the day.

The SUST started its journey in 1991 with 3 departments, 205 students and 13 teachers. At present he number of teachers has grown to 566 and the students to 8,596. Besides, the University has 12 affiliated colleges under the School of Medical Sciences with 4,000 students.
