Expatriate Bangladeshis sent home a record US$2.64 billion as remittances in December, which was around 32 per cent higher than the corresponding month of the previous year.
The wage earners sent around $2 billion remittance to the country in December, 2023.
With the latest addition, the year-on-year growth in receiving remittances stood at 27.56 per cent for the first six months, July to December, of the ongoing fiscal year (FY25) as the country received $13.78 billion in total during the period.
Last year, it was $10.80 billion.
