BPL T20 theme graffiti and song unveiled

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday (Dec 3) unveiled the theme graffiti and song of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 in a grand ceremony at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud, BCB president Faruque Ahmed, BPL governing council member secretary Nazmul Abedin Fahim along with other BCB officials were present at the moment. The event marked the beginning of a new look BPL T20 season, where the excitement of cricket meets the vibrant creativity of graffiti art, local media reported.

"Through the graffiti, the July uprising that promised to build a new Bangladesh will be vividly depicted," BPL governing council member secretary Nazmul Abedin Fahim said. "The graffiti work would depict how the young generation who led the July revolution wants to see the future Bangladesh. Throughout the BPL, the fans and spectators will have the opportunity to know their vision."

The BPL, in fact, will kick off the Youth Festival, which will be held across the country with the theme of 'Let's change the country, let's change the world'.

The BPL will have a trophy tour, for the first time in its history. The mascot Dana-36 will add extra colour in this tour.

The 'Dana 36' mascot – a 'white dove' with spread wings or fan, which is a symbol of peace with a total of 36 colorful feathers – 18 on each side – represents the unforgettable memory of the July uprising that ended on Aug 5 (called as July 36) following the ouster of autocratic ruler Sheikh Hasina.

The BPL will run from Dec 30, 2024 to Feb 7, 2025.
