A four-member delegation of British Council made a courtesy call on University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Chairman Prof. Dr. S.M.A. Faiz at the UGC office in Dhaka on Monday (Nov 11). UGC Members Prof Dr. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan and Prof Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Secretary Dr. Mohammad Fakhrul Islam were present. Country Director of British Council Stephen Forbes led the delegation.
British Council delegation highlighted the ways of getting social and financial support by Bangladeshi students under the Transnational Higher Education Model. They also laid importance on arranging a policy dialog on this issue.
Stephen Forbes said universities of the U.K. have interests to work for development of higher education in Bangladesh under the Transnational Higher Education Model.
Dr. S.M.A. Faiz said the UGC is working to ensure quality education. He said the UGC would further strengthen relation with British Council for its capacity building for quality improvement of the higher studies.
