Gazipur City Corporation and Khulna City Corporations will go to the polls on May 15. Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda announced the election schedule for the two city corporations at a press conference at the Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital on Saturday (Mar 31), local media report said.
According to the EC's schedule, nominations can be filed until Apr 12. The nominations will be scrutinised on Apr 15 and 16. Nominations can be withdrawn until Apr 23.
Dhaka Regional Election Officer Rakibuddin Mandol has been made the returning officer for GCC election, while Khulna Regional Election Officer Md Yunus Ali for KCC election.
