Bangladesh Bank has re-fixed the duration of interbank transactions with effect from Wednesday (Jul 31). From now on, high-value clearing cheques presentment cut-off time will be 12 p.m. and the return cut-off time will be 3 p.m., as per a central bank notification issued on Tuesday.
The return value clearing cheques presentment cut-off time will be 12:30 p.m. while the return cut-off time will be 5 p.m.
Transaction of both sessions through BEFTN will be in the existing schedule.
Transactions using the Bangladesh Bank's Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, the payment of customs duties can be done until 5 p.m. and interbank fund transfer and return until 5.15 p.m.
