The ongoing curfew in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Narsingdi districts will remain relaxed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Wednesday (Jul 31), said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. The curfew will be relaxed for the next four days – Wednesday to Saturday and it will remain enforced from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. in those districts, he told journalists after a meeting at his ministry conference room in the evening, local media reported.
The minister held a meeting with seven ministers/state ministers, secretaries and representatives of law enforcement agencies at his ministry conference room to discuss the country's prevailing situation.
In other districts, the local administration will decide about the duration of curfew.
At the same time, all public and private offices will run their operations as per their normal schedule. The Ministry of Public Administration sent an SMS to the media in this regard on Tuesday.
From Jul 28, public and private offices were operating for six hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Chaired by the Home Minister, the meeting was attended by Law Minister Anisul Huq, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury and State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak. Besides, the senior secretaries, secretaries of the respective ministries, inspector general of police, director general of RAB and top officials of law enforcement and intelligence agencies were present at the meeting.
