Dhaka's BPL campaign ended with 11th loss

Durdanto Dhaka's Bangladesh Premier League T20 campaign ended with a record 11th straight loss as they suffered a 10-run defeat to Chattogram Challengers at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday (Feb 17). Dhaka remained winless after won their opening fixture against defending champions Comilla Victorians.

Batted first, opener Tanzid Tamim smashed six sixes and a four for a 51-ball 70-run knock and in-form batter Tom Bruce scored a 35-ball 48 laced with three fours and two sixes to help Chattogram post 159 for six.

Dhaka's Shoriful picked up two wickets to take his tally to 22 in the tournament, the edition's highest so far.

In reply, the tournament's highest scorer Alex Ross smashed with a 44-ball 55 which featured three sixes and four boundaries, and former skipper Mosaddek Hossain smashed five fours with a late 18-ball 29-run cameo. However, it was not enough to break the losing streak of Dhaka. Ross finished the tournament with 352 runs in 11 innings and his teammate Naim Sheikh managed 310 from 12.

Chattogram leapfrog Khulna Tigers, and climbed to fourth place with 12 points.
