Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Monday (Feb 5) said Industries Ministry will work with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) to forward the country's economy and maintain the business-friendly environment. "The government is taking multidimensional initiatives to improve the business environment in the country," he said while meeting with FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam at Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.
During the meeting, Alam called upon Industries Ministry to take initiatives on a priority basis to install modern equipments and increase testing capacity in the laboratory of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) located in Chattogram port.
He also urged the ministry to modernise the existing industrial policies and to increase the efficiency of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial cities.
FBCCI Senior Vice-President Md Amin Helaly was present on the occasion, among others.
