Bangladesh thrashed visiting Singapore by 8-0 goals in the second and ultimate match of the FIFA Tier-1 Women's Int'l Football Series held at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur on Monday (Dec 4). With the resounding victory over Singapore, Bangladesh won the series 2-0 and finished the year with a big win.
Tohura Khatun and Ritu Porna Chakma scored a brace each while they were well supported by Sanjida Akter, skipper Sabina Khatun, substitutes Matsushima Sumaya and Shamsunnahar Jr. who netted one goal each for Bangladesh in the one-sided affairs after leading the first half by 3-0 goals.
Bangladesh could have taken the lead in the third minute when Tohura's well-judge shot from the close range sailed harmlessly over the cross bar after Sabina's shot, fisted by Singapore custodian, came to her way.
Saiful Bari Titu's side again came close of scoring in the 11th minute. This time Sabina missed the opportunity as her shot went over the cross bar.
Tohutra, who played a major role in Bangladesh's first match victory scoring two goals, put Bangladesh ahead in the 16th minute with a close range header after Masura Parvin provided a pass from close range.
Ritu Porna Chakma doubled the led scoring the second goal for Bangladesh in the 18th minute with a left footer push from the D box after Singapore defenders failed to clear the ball.
Tohura further widened the margin scoring her second and third goal for Bangladesh in the 26th minute off a pass from Ritu Porna.
After the break, Bangladesh continued onslaught and made the score line 4-0 after Sanjida sent the ball home with a perfect placing shot in the 57th minute.
Ritu Porna scored her second and the fifth goal for Bangladesh in the 62nd minute with volleyball after utilizing a pass from Monika Chakma.
Sabina scored the sixth goal in the 75th minute with a right footer placing shot off a cross from substitute Shamsunnahar while Sumiya made the score line 7-0 in the 87th minute.
Shamsunnahar completed the winners' tally scoring the eight goal in the dying moment after utilizing a cross from Ritu Porna.
Bangladesh clearly dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Singapore failed to produce any clear move.
The hosts down the visitors by 3-0 in the first match.
