Two additional trains of the metro rail will start operation at 7.10 a.m. and 7.20 a.m. from Wednesday (Nov 8) from the Uttara station to facilitate teachers and students of different educational institutions with the commuter service. The authorities came up with the extended service so that students and teachers can avail the service as the educational institutions usually open at 8 a.m.
The metro rail authorities, however, decided to make the extended services available only for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Pass or Rapid Pass holders (permanent pass), MRT Line officials said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Agargaon-Motijheel section of the country's first metro rail on Nov 4.
