India beat Tigresses to reach Asian Games final

India beat Tigresses to reach Asian Games final

Bangladesh women's team faced a crushing eight wicket defeat to India in the first semi-final of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou on Sunday (Sep 24).

Batted first, the Tigresses were bundled out for just 51 runs in 17.5 overs followed by a horrible batting collapse courtesy of Indian medium pacer Pooja Vastrakar's four wicket haul. Nigar Sultana Joty remained the only batter to reach the double figure. However, none of the batters were able to make an impact.

In reply, India reached the target in 8.2 overs losing two wickets as Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten on twenty runs.

the Tigresses still have a chance to win the bronze if they win the third place decider game against the losing team between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the other semi-final.
