Asian Development Bank (ADB) president Takehiko Nakao will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday (Feb 27) on a two-day visit to Bangladesh. ADB media release says he will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister A M A Muhith, and other senior officials.
Takehiko Nakao is expected visit selected ADB-aided projects in the power, education, urban infrastructure and rail transport sectors.
Bangladesh joined ADB in 1973, and in 1982 became the first ADB member to host a field office.
The Manila-based development bank has approved $20 billion in loans, grants, and technical assistance for Bangladesh until now, the release added.
