12 kg LPG cylinder now fixed at Tk 1,140

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has refixed the price of private sector Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at Tk 1,140 for 12 kg cylinder at retailer level. The new price is effective from Wednesday (Aug 2) 6 p.m. and all licenses of LPG marketing companies will implement the price, BERC Chairman Nurul Amin said at a press conference at commission’s hall room on Wednesday. Members of the commission Dr Muhammad Yamin Chowdhury, Dr Md Helal Uddin, Abul Khair Md Aminur Rahman and BERC Secretary Barrister Md Khalilur Rahman Khan were present, local media reported.

The chairman said the BERC also re-fixed auto gas price Tk 52.57 per liter, while per kilogram of LPG at Tk 94.96 at retailer level including VAT owned by private sector and Tk 91.14 per kilogram of liquefied supplied LPG in reticulated system owned by private sector. He mentioned that the price of 12.5 kg cylinder of BPC would remain unchanged at Tk 591.

According to the BERC details, the Saudi Contract Price (Saudi CP) price of per metric ton of LPG increased to US $463.50 from US$400 and US$463.50 from US$375 for August 2023 as per Propane and Butane of the Saudi Aramco.

The Saudi CP price was fixed considering the Propane and Butane ratio 35:65.
