Private-run television network Channel 24 on Wednesday (Jul 19) introduced the country's first-ever artificial intelligence news presenter named ‘Aparajita’. "We introduced an artificial intelligence news presenter named 'Aparajita' in our prime-time news bulletin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday," Razib Khan, head of digital of Channel 24, told National News Agency of Bangladesh.
Channel 24’s online portal published a report about it mentioning, ‘Aparajita’ is the country’s first ever AI news reader. It said the use of artificial intelligence for news presentation has been observed globally. Kuwait News introduced AI news presented named ‘Feda’ in April.
On Jul 9, private Indian television channel Odisha Television Limited (OTV) unveiled an artificial intelligence presenter.
It was learnt that, China's Xinhua news agency pioneered the world's first AI news anchor in 2018. By blending AI technology with human voices and images, they created a seamless virtual anchor.
