Grameenphone and Banglalink, two mobile operators of the country, purchased a total of 15.6 Mhz of 4G spectrum in the auction on Tuesday (Feb 13). The 15.6 Mhz of 4G spectrum was cost at Tk 5,268.51 crore with 10 percent VAT included. Banglalink bought a total of 10.6 MHz spectrum from two different bands -- 2100 and 1800 while Grameenphone bought 5MHz from only 1800 band, local media reports said.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) held the 4G spectrum auction at Dhaka Club on Tuesday (Feb 13).
Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology minister Mustafa Jabbar, BTRC chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmud and senior officials of the operators were present at the auction.
