Khulna Tigers skipper Yasir Ali's 17-ball 36 powered his side to a seven-wicket win over Chattogram Challengers propelling Khulna to their second win of the Bangladesh Premier League at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday (Jan 20).

Chasing 157, Khulna lost opener Munim Shahriar for a duck but Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy put together a 104-run stand to lay the foundations for the chase.

Tamim was dismissed for a 37-ball 44 by left-arm spinner Nihaduzzaman and Joy followed falling to the same bowler leaving Khulna at 109-3 in the 15th over. However, the right-handed batter managed to get to his fifty as he scored a 44-ball 59 that included five fours and a six.

The onus fell upon Yasir, who smashed a total of four sixes and two fours to take his team home with a steady Azam Khan at the other end.

Earlier, Chattogram managed to post 157-9 after being put into bat. Opener Usman Khan top-scored with a 31-ball 45 and Afif Hossain managed to grind out 35 runs off 31 balls before Farhad Reza smashed a nine-ball 21 to propel Chattogram's total to 157.

Khulna's Wahab Riaz was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped his second four-wicket haul of the tournament finishing with four wickets for 36 runs.
