LPG price goes down by Tk 5.39 per kg

The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been adjusted downward by Tk 5.39 per kilogram to Tk 102.70 from the previous rate of Tk 108.09 per kg. Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the latest price for the month of January.

Now a 12-kg LPG cylinder will be sold at Tk 1,232 instead of Tk 1,297. BERC Chairman Abdul Jalil announced the new prices at a virtual press briefing on Monday (Jan 2). The new price has been made effective from 6 p.m. Monday, local media reported.

BERC Chairman said LPG prices for different sizes of cylinders – from 5.5-kg to 45-kg – will be fixed accordingly.

As per the announcement, the price of "auto gas" (LPG used for motor vehicles) also will go down to Tk 57.41 per litre from earlier price of Tk 60.41 per litre.

However, the price of LPG, marketed by state-owned LP Gas Company, will remain the same.
