Saddam Hussain and Sheikh Wali Asif Enan have been made new president and general secretary (GS) respectively of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BSL) for next two years.
Bangladesh Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the new committee. On behalf of the party president, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the new committee on Wednesday (Dec 20) after emerging from the premier’s official Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka, local media reported.
Committees of BSL’s Dhaka University, Dhaka city north and south units were also announced on the occasion.
Mazharul Kabir Shayan and Tanvir Hasan Shaikat have been made president and general secretary respectively of Dhaka University unit of BSL.
Riaz Mahmud and Sagar Ahmed became president and GS respectively of Dhaka City North Unit of BSL while Rajibul Islam and Sajal Kundu have been made president and GS respectively of Dhaka City South unit of the organisation.
On Dec 6, BSL’s national council was held at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan while Dhaka City North and South units’ councils were held on Dec 2 at the Udyan and DU unit’s council was held on Dec 3 on the premises of Aparajeyo Bangla on the university campus.
