The theme of this year's tax day is 'Sobai Miley Debo Kor, Desh Hobey Swa-nirvor'.

On the eve of the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued a message wishing a success the day. In her message, the Premier also greeted all officials and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and tax-paying individuals.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the Awami League-led government is working towards making Bangladesh a happy, prosperous and developed one by 2041.

Mentioning that "Achieving budget targets is essential to implement our government's visions," she said full cooperation and participation of taxpayers are needed for achieving the goal.

A new horizon has opened up in today's tax culture in the country by connecting respected taxpayers, stakeholders and citizens with the tax department.

Today's tax culture has ensured tax payment in a festive environment, instant e-TIN issuance, online income tax return submitting, assistance in submitting an income tax returns, a-challan and e-TDS system, she added.

NBR's innovative IT-based programmes are playing a strong role in building a revenue-friendly culture in the country, she said.

The PM said all tax offices provided tax-payment-related services across the country in November.

She urged all to work collectively to make the country's overall tax management more people-oriented and more information-technology dependent for building a 'Sonar Bangladesh' as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
