Meher Afroze Chumki, MP, and Shabnam Jahan Sheela were made President and General Secretary of Mahila Awami League respectively for the next three years.
Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced the names of the newly elected president and general secretary of Mahila Awami League following its sixth triennial council held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on Saturday (Nov 26), local media reported.
Shaheda Tarique Deepti and Hasina Bari were elected President and General Secretary of Mahila Awami League's Dhaka North City unit respectively, while Sabera Begum and Parul Akter were elected President and General Secretary of its Dhaka South City unit respectively.
The Awami League general secretary also announced the name of Simeen Hussain (Rimi) as a presidium member and Jahanara Begum as women affairs secretary of Awami League Central Working Committee.
