Tigers start new year with tri-nation series

The Tigers are going to start their new year on Monday (Jan 15) with a tri-nation one-day international series. Hosts Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka at 12 p.m. on the opening day.

The second match of the series will see Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe battle at the same venue. The teams will face twice in the tournament. The final will be held on Jan 27.

Sri Lanka national cricket team, led by Angelo Mathews and Hathurusingha arrived in Dhaka on Saturday. After the tri-nation series, Sri Lanka will also participate in a two-match Test series against the Tigers. The first Test will be held on Jan 31 to Feb 4 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and the second Test on Feb 8-12 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
