The Textbooks Festival 2018, distribution of free textbooks among school students for 2018 academic year, celebrated across the country on the occasion of free textbook distribution among students.
The distribution of free textbooks kicks off in all the primary schools and high schools of the country with a festive mood. Alongside the students, guardians were also seen in different schools in the city and other parts of the country to join the textbook festival.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the program at Azimpur Government Girls High School and College in the city. On the occasion, he released balloons. High officials of the education ministry were also present there.
On the other hand, Primary Mass Education Ministry held their program from Dhaka University's central playground.
Earlier on Saturday (Dec 30), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the book festival at her official residence Ganobhaban.
