No new tax in 2018: Finance Minister

Finance Minister A M A Muhith on Sunday (Dec 31) expected a peaceful and stable year in 2018 maintaining the country's existing economic development.

"2018 will be a good year for the country. Next national budget will be as usual and no new tax will be imposed in the year," he told journalists at Finance Ministry in the city, agency reported.

Responding to a question, Muhith said there will be no risk in the banking sector in 2018. He hoped that the depositors will get back their confidence over the banking sector. He mentioned that the outgoing year 2017 was good for the country as the political situation was peaceful.

Finance Division Acting Secretary Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury was also present on the occasion.
