DITF 2018 begins on Jan 1

The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2018 will commence at the ground on the west of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city on Jan 1. Prime minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the month-long 23rd trade fair organized jointly by the commerce ministry and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), local media reports said.

The jurisdiction concerned have already completed all agreement to hold the fair on 31.53 acres of land in a peaceful atmosphere. Adequate measures have been taken by the police administration to ensure safety and security of the local and foreign visitors. 

A total of 520 stalls and pavilions, including 64 premium pavilions, 27 foreign pavilions and 8 mini foreign pavilions, have been composed in the fair venue. There are also 24 food stalls in the fair.

Business-people from over 21 countries, including India, Bhutan, Pakistan, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Japan, Australia, Germany, Hong Kong and Arab Emirates will participate in the fair. 

The foreign participants will also have the opportunity to display their state-of-the-art technologies to the local producers and exporters. The local producers in the remote areas of rural Bangladesh who do not have financial strength to participate in the trade fairs abroad will have the opportunity to display their products to the foreign buyers at this fair.
