The University of Development Alternative (UODA) is hosting a fair for students who have been seeking admission in different undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by the university. The six-day fair began on Tuesday (Dec 26) and it will continue till Dec 31 this year.
The admission fair, which has been taking place at UODA Registrar Office (80, Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi) and UODA CSE Department (3/C Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi), will remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day including holidays.
The university held a press conference marking the event at its Dhanmondi campus in Dhaka on Tuesday. Founder and president of the university Prof Mujib Khan spoke at the press conference, while UODA Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmedullah Mia and its Registrar Prof Dr Iffat Chowdhury were also present, among others.
Prof Mujib Khan said: "The university has arranged this admission fair only to provide a scope for the poor, underprivileged and bright students so that they can get the higher education."
The educationalist also assured that the university will waive the academic fees for the underprivileged students after discussing with their parents.
He also promised to completely waive the tuition fees for the extraordinarily meritorious students with a poor financial background.
