Southeast University (SEU) celebrated Victory Day through a discussion program followed by a patriotic soiree performed by the artists of its cultural club on Thursday (Dec 21) at the permanent campus of the university.
Major Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed (retd), Registrar of SEU, delivered the welcome speech at the program presided over by Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of SEU.
H.T. Imam, Political Advisor to the Prime Minister, attended the program as the chief guest, while Md. Rezaul Karim, a leading industrialist and Chairman, SEU Board of Trustees, and Nasiruddin Yousuf Bachchu, an eminent artist, film director and freedom fighter, attended as the special guest and the guest of honor, respectively.
H. T. Imam shared his experiences as a freedom fighter and highlighted the role of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who struggled throughout his life for the independence of Bangladesh.
He also paid tribute to the three million martyrs who sacrificed their lives to liberate this country and the three lac women who were violated by the Pakistani occupation forces during the liberation war.
Members of board of trustees, deans, department chairs, faculty members, high officials, and students were present at the program.
