Traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Wednesday (Dec 20) published as many as 39 on-street car parking spots in the capital. The DMP came up with the arrangement with an aim to reduce the traffic congestion in Dhaka and also to facilitate car parking of city dwellers, said a senior DMP official.
It was learnt that, DMP have already sent the lists of on-street car parking areas to Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation. They will fix charge of on-street car parking, according to a senior DMP official.
The decision of on-street car parking is expected to reduce unnecessarily harassment of car users.
