Captain Marvel-confirmed for Avangers 4

Captain Marvel-confirmed for Avangers 4

Brie Larson's Captain Marvel will appear in Avengers 4, according to Black Widow actor Scarlett Johansson. The longtime Avenger also revealed who else will share a scene with her and Larson.

"We have Brie Larson on this film. She’s here before shooting the stand-alone Captain Marvel movie so we get to watch her get her feet wet for real," Johansson told Vanity Fair. "She’s so great, but a really cute thing happened the other day where Hulk is standing next to her and Joe Russo told her to put her hand in front of Mark [Ruffalo]’s face to stop him, and she’s like, 'In front of his face?' And they explained, 'that’s where his chest is,' and she looks up and yells, 'I’m new! I’m new!' I’m like, 'damn, girl.' It’s very surreal for me to watch these new cast members come in and get their feet wet and breath new life into these characters who are so iconic."

This seems to also confirm that Larson's Carol Danvers will somehow be transported from her solo film's 1990s setting to the modern day setting of the Avengers franchise - though the circumstances of how that may happen remain a mystery. Larson previously said she was hoping to share a scene with the Hulk in a Marvel film. Marvel previously confirmed that Larson would not appear in Avengers: Infinity War.

Captain Marvel is due out in theaters March 8, 2019, with the still untitled Avengers 4 following on May 4, 2019.
