Badruddoza to lead new alliance Jukta Front

A new political alliance styled 'Jukta Front' will soon be launched in the country’s political arena. The decision to form the combine was finalised on Monday (Dec 4) at a meeting held at Jatiya Samajtangtrik Dal faction president ASM Abdur Rob's residence in the capital, according to several reports.

Four political parties -- Bikalpadhara Bangladesh, JSD, Krishak Sramik Janata League and Nagarik Oikya  -- will be included in the alliance. Bikalpadhara president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury is going to lead the alliance.

'Jukta Front' will soon be floated formally through a press conference, sources said.

Badruddoza Chowdhury, Bikalpadhara general secretary Abdul Mannan, JSD faction president Rob, KSJL president Abdul Kader Siddique, Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, among others, were attended the meeting, sources added.

Badruddoza, the founding secretary general of the BNP, became a minister when the party came to power with Khaleda Zia as Prime Minister in 1991. He became president of Bangladesh when the BNP returned to power in 2001, but had to leave the post shortly after taking oath.
