Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka for Phnom Penh Sunday (Dec 3) on a three-day official visit to Cambodia. A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the PM and her entourage members took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the morning for the Cambodian capital.
The premier will pay the visit at the invitation of her Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen as Dhaka hopes the visit would help strengthen bilateral cooperation in the important sectors between the two Asian nations.
The flight is scheduled to reach Phnom Penh International Airport at 12:30 p.m. (Cambodia time) the same day. The minister-in-waiting appointed by Cambodian premier Hun Sen, and Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem, who is concurrently accredited to Cambodia, will receive the PM at the airport, local media reports said.
On Monday, the PM will hold official talks with her Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen.
Wrapping up her three-day official visit to Cambodia, the Hasina will return home on Tuesday (Dec 5).
