Job fair held at SEU

Southeast University (SEU) in association with Prothom Alo Chakri.com, has organized a two-day long job fair on Nov 25-26 at the permanent campus of the university, Tejgaon, Dhaka. More than 62 leading employers of the country participated in the job fair.

This job fair has provided a platform for the potential job candidates to meet the potential employers, and the employers had an opportunity to identify the candidates with requisite qualifications and skills. Final year students and recent graduates of SEU attended the job fair.

Anisul Islam Mahmud, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of Bangladesh, was present at the inaugural ceremony of the job fair as the chief guest.

Two seminars were held in the fair. 'Impact of Soft Skills on Career Success: Employers’ Perspectives' was held on Nov 25. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Chairman, Nitol Niloy Group, and former president FBCCI, was present as the chief guest in the seminar.

Musharrof Hossain, President, BSHRM & APFHRM and Head of Human Resource Management, ICDDR,B presented the keynote paper at the seminar. Quazi M. Ahmed, President, Bangladesh Organization for Learning & Development (BOLD) participated the program as the special guest.

Another seminar tiltled "Global Transition in Career Skills: Employers' Expectations from University Graduates" held on Nov 26. Md. Tabarak Hossain Bhuiyan, Managing Director and CEO, Prime Bank Investment Ltd., presented the keynote paper.

M. Kamaluddin Chowdhury, honorable representative member, Board of Trustees, Southeast University Trust, delivered his speech as the chief guest.

He highlighted the vision of Southeast University which aims to develop the university as a world class institute by 2030. Quazi Mohammad Shahed, Chief Human Resource Officer, Grameenphone Ltd., attended the program as the special guest.

The programme was also attended by respected members of the Board of Trustees and Adviser, Registrar, Deans of different schools, Chairmen & Directors of different departments, faculty members, students, media personalities and host of eminent persons.
